Arsenal and Chelsea target Alvaro Morata has returned to Real Madrid after the Spanish giants activated their buyback clause with Juventus.
The Serie A champions confirmed on Thursday that Madrid had told them they would be making use of their option to bring Morata back to the Santiago Bernabeu for around £23million, but his return to the Spanish capital is expected to be in an administrative sense rather on the football pitch.
Madrid hope to earn around £40m for the sale of Morata, who is also of interest to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Morata’s current focus remains on Euro 2016, where he has impressed as Spain’s leading striker in their title defence, the 23-year-old admitted that he wanted to feel happy, whereever he played.

“I've worked hard and I've been through many bad times to get here, so now I can enjoy it and work my hardest so [Spain] win,” he told Marca.
“I want to play, to be happy and to feel important.
“We'll see what happens although it doesn't depend so much on me, but I have the drive to want to win titles and finish in a good position.”
