Arsenal hope Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be available for their game against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.
The midfielder suffered a hamstring injury against Manchester City on Sunday and will miss their Boxing Day clash against West Brom.
But Arsenal hope Oxlade-Chamberlain will be fit to play some part in the festive period. The Gunners face Palace at Emirates Stadium on New Year’s Day before a trip to Bournemouth two days later.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been in good form recently and the news is a boost for Arsene Wenger as Arsenal bid to stay in the title race.
Back-to-back away defeats against Everton and Manchester City have seen Arsenal drop to fourth and they are nine points behind leaders Chelsea.
