Alexis Sanchez disappointed by Manchester United's lack of world-class signings
Alexis Sanchez is disappointed with Manchester United's summer transfer business.
Only Fred, arriving from Shakhtar Donetsk, is expected to have an impact on Jose Mourinho's first-team squad during the coming season, with Diogo Dalot inexperienced and Lee Grant a back-up goalkeeper.
Alexis has been impressed by Fred during training, and expects youngster Andreas Pereira to make more of a name for himself during the campaign, but feels United need "more world-class" signings.
"I would have liked that they had signed many more world-class players," he told ESPN.
"But it's the club's decision."
He added: "The truth is that [Fred] impressed me a lot in his first game. It's what the team lacked - someone who plays 'jogo bonito,' as they say in Brazil. And Andreas Pereira too.
"I think they are two players who have quality and they could help me a lot."
"I am more comfortable [in the squad]. I am calm. My team-mates have to be focused. I also have to. I depend on them. If they are well, me too.
"I think it will be seen now in the games when we play with Paul [Pogba], with Fred [and Romelu] Lukaku and with all the rest who are playing. There we will understand better which is the best way [to get the most out of the team]."
