Davis Cup fate to be decided in Liverpool
13 April 2012
Liverpool will stage a Davis Cup tie for the first time in September, when Great Britain take on Poland in a Euro/Africa Group I relegation clash.
The Echo Arena will host John Lloyd's side on a hard court with the venue able to hold up to 5,000 for the tie each day between 18 and 20 September.
Lloyd said: "Liverpool is a fantastic city with a rich sporting pedigree and I'm very excited to be taking the tie to the north-west."
Britain, having been soundlybeaten 4-1 by Ukraine in March when they were without the ill Andy Murray, must win to avoid dropping into Group II for the first time since 1996.
