Broadcaster Fiona Bruce, pictured left with Samantha Cameron and TV presenter Davina McCall, attended a Downing Street drinks reception last night for the children’s charity Action Medical Research. Bruce, who has been working at the BBC for a quarter of a century, recently remarked that television is still depressingly appearance-driven.
“I can read the news and if people think I haven’t brushed my hair or my earrings are terrible then I’ve completely wasted my time. It shows they haven’t been listening to what I’m saying.”
