Dome bill to hit £20 million
13 April 2012
The bill for maintaining the empty Millennium Dome will reach £20 million by the time it reopens in four years.
Taxpayers have already shelled out £8 million at a rate of £64,000 a week for maintenance and security.
A deal to give the Dome to a private consortium for development into an entertainment venue in return for a share of profits is awaiting planning permission.
